Description

This book is a true collector's item.

It is the 4th edition of a guide to India "To the principal stations between Calcutta and Mooltan and Allahabad and Bombay" published around 1870 in Calcutta. It contains fascinating descriptions of the cities, towns and tourist spots in North India.

What makes this book particularly interesting is that one G A Jame Rothney has made notes about his travels between 1872 and 1902. The back endpapers give his travel dates including visits to Australia and New Zealand. The notes in the text are unobtrusive - mostly underlinings and occasioanl comments.

The book itself is in very good condition. The flyleaves, page block and pages are excellent without staining while the cover (black with gold tooling) is sound but has some wear around the edges.
