The Hurunui Village is a family owned boutique vineyard in North Canterbury. The planting of the four varieties began in September 1998. My clients have invested significant capital to get the vineyard and property to where it is today.  It's not only designed and developed to a very high standard; it is producing quality New Zealand wines. There are approx. 900 Pinot Noir vines, 950 Chardonnay vines, 900 Riesling vines, and 1000 Sauvignon Blanc on 2ha more or less.

The Cottages: The authentic cottages exterior hides a well-appointed interior.  There are 2 cottages and affectionately named Jesses and Meg’s cottage – both are self-contained, luxury cottages offering king-sized bedroom, ensuite with double shower and claw-footed bath.  The cottages give you a grandstand seat to enjoy the sun setting over the vineyard and Hurunui River.

The Wine Cave: Was created to cater for wedding ceremonies and private wine tastings for groups. It complements the Village and offers another venue for private catering.

Vineyard Production: The vineyard produce approx. 8 tonnes of good quality grapes per season. All the grapes are produced into wine and bottled, this equate to approx. 6000 litres or 625 cases of wine per year.

Viticulture and Winemaking: my vendors use local labour for pruning and picking and manage the day to day running of the vineyard included irrigation and frost fighting with built in automated sprinkler system. A local winery makes and bottles the wine. The labelling and packing is completed at Hurunui vineyard.

Future Development Opportunities: Above the Wine Cave there is a building platform to build a 3rd cottage and a site next to the wine cave to build a 4th cottage overlooking the vineyard.
