Approach Angle 95º Turning Facing SCLCR/L tool holders use the two 80º corners of CC__ inserts mounted at 95º to the axis of the lathe. Their shape allows straight turning to a shoulder, as well as facing cuts either to a shoulder or to the centre of a bar as shown in photo.There is no need to change the aspect of the tool when changing from facing to longitudinal turning as the insert shape gives clearance for both operations.

This is the most versatile style of toolholder much more so than those using triangular inserts.

Positive rake tools like these are more suitable for small to med sized lathes which generally don't have the HP to drive negative rake tools.

This 16mm square shank toolholder which unlike some others on the market takes standard ISO inserts which are avail from all carbide manufacturers.

This tool takes ISO inserts CCMT090304/08 where the 04 or 08 is the corner radius in mm. Can supply additional 04 radius inserts @ $5.00 each and high rake ground inserts for aluminium @ $6.50 each
