Weld steel with diesel. Lincoln 225 DC welders, 3 kva single phase, diesel. One with cylinder off engine but complete welder unit, was welding when the engine broke. Two spare engines of the 20 hp Lombardini diesel variety (one has had a ring gear and starter added). One on a trailer has been in our yard for years, turns freely but welder had a problem when we bought it. Must sell or scrap. Good winter project in the corner of your shed.
