New motors listing policy

On 9 March 2020 we'll be adding a new listing policy for motors listings.

This policy will mean that the main photo must be of the vehicle you’re selling. Overlays, branding, and messaging won’t be permitted on vehicle listing images.

Images are one of the most important considerations when buyers are deciding what to purchase, and this small change should give buyers a better experience. We also reckon it’s important for sellers to keep up with industry standards, which means quality images are essential. More...

Changes to ‘Sport’ categories

Changes to Background Check

Starting today, we'll be making a change to the way Background Checks appear on car listings.

We reckon it's really important that buyers have peace of mind buying on site, so this change will add a (free) three-point Background Check on Basic car listings, showing if the listed car is:

• stolen,
• a damaged import,

GST changes for international purchases live today

As we announced in September, from today, we will be collecting NZ GST of 15% on all Trade Me purchases from any international seller to a New Zealand buyer.

Here’s what you need to know:

• International sellers will provide us with a GST exclusive item price and a GST exclusive shipping price. NZ GST of 15% will be included by us, and this is what Kiwi buyers will see on listings.  More...
