This is a Vintage Japanese indigo dyed cotton textile AIZOME. Very deep, dark indigo blue.

Aizome: Japanese cotton dyed with natural indigo, it is highly regarded and collected within Japan and across the world. ‘Ai’ means indigo and ‘some’ means dyeing.

Condition: Excellent

36cm x 120cm. Cotton

All my kimono fabrics are hand picked (by me!) from Japan. As the fabric has come from an old kimonos there will be small pinholes near the edges and small marks from wear.

Due to the age of the fabric there may be some small stains and slight fraying.

This fabric would be great to use in any textile art or craft project including patchwork, quilting, bag or doll making. Be inspired by this gorgeous, authentic Japanese fabric.
