You are looking at my American designed Hafler DH-200 MOSFET class AB stereo power amplifier (2 of 2). Designed by one of the world's pre-eminent audio engineers... David Hafler - himself inducted into the 'Audio Hall of Fame' in 1984!

So much has been written about the 'DH' series of power amps over time, I'll let you do your own research. Needless to say it has an almost cult-like following, with many units bought and enjoyed by audio enthusiasts around the world.

I would say that its particular qualities are transparency, its velvety black sonic background... and amazing clarity thanks to its high damping factor. Damping factor is an amplifier's ability to 'stop' a cone from moving - this is essential to give you a clean/sharp sound free from bass 'overhang' or slur. Most amps suck at this... the DH-200's high damping factor of 150 is very impressive!

So too is its build quality, these are well known to completely outperform their specs and run forever.

Ken Rockwell reviewed one and found that on his test bench it put out 164W into 8ohms... it's technically 'only' a 100W amp :)

Of the DH-200 he said: "This amplifier is from the very pinnacle of home High Fidelity... I'm amused that even at 30 years old it easily outperforms modern state-of-the-art class D amplifiers like the Musical Fidelity M1PWR."

I have two of these amps for sale and was running them bi-amped into my Wharfedale Opus2-1 floorstanders... simply incredible sound! Front end was a McLaren 603 also for sale in my other listing - see photo of them all together (but selling separately!). Shame to let them go but I've gone to integrated amps now. My loss...
