*** I have owned and sold many speakers brands in my 50 years of audio but I have only seen these speakers once in my life. They first catch your eyes with their unique looks ..its not wood, its not plastic, its not aluminium, its not concrete.. but its nearly as heavy ..is it marble ? ..hmmm maybe but that will be very expensive ... ITS CERAMIC ...the same stuff you floor tiles are made off :)

*** So NO cabinet resonance here ..thus the sound is tight and solid and its unique dome bass-driver adds to that ..their quality soft dome mid-range and soft dome tweeters add to its open airy sound ..reminded me so much of my CANTON stand mount speakers of the 70's... even their aluminium mesh grills looks the same.

*** Well that is all I know about these SONICS Mini 9 speakers and I could not find anything more on the net ..just that some hint that Sonics made high end speakers in the 70's for big Japanese electronics companies like Pioneer and Sansui which did not had speaker manufacturing capabilities... see example in last photo

LOOKS: These are unique ..nothing out there looks like them .. is it classic retro or even modern ? ..you decide. They are a matched pr #50 and #49 They are about 8/10 cosmetically. .One bass driver has been touch up by me with silicon rubber so stop a tear where the cone meet the rubber surround .

LABEL: Sonics ..well very little is known about this Japanese company ..its a mystery.

LIST PRICE: Well I do not know ..just that it can stands its man against my $1000 stand mount speakers for sure ... it must have been expensive because you do not get this quality materials and drivers for cheap..that is for sure.

LISTENING TEST: They have a punch and a tightness to their sound with an open top end ..no vibration so nothing to color their sound ..
