Listing Detail Tabs

Castile soap is usually made of 100% olive oil.

A true castile soap does not create bubbly fluffy sudsy lather.

Based on the soaping oil properties, olive oil does not have cleansing property. The only affordable oil that has cleansing property is coconut oil. This soaping oil properties information can be found on internet.

Traditional castile soap should be cured for six months or more, whether the castile soap is made with hot or cold process. When the soap paste is ready, it should be diluted with a lot of water and yes, preservative is needed to prevent bacteria, mold, or fungus in the liquid soap.

This liquid castile soap contains other oils so this liquid castile soap has moisturising and cleansing properties.

The ingredients for this liquid castile soap are olive, coconut, and castor oils; water, potassium hydroxide, and preservative.

This liquid castile soap will be thickening and will become more moisturising over time so no thickening substance is needed in this liquid castile soap. You can test it by putting a bit of this liquid castile soap into a small glass or cup and cover it for more than one week.

This listing is for 250ml unscented liquid castile soap.

If you look for a larger volume, please look at my listing for 500ml and 1 Litre liquid castile soaps.

Some Trade Me members asked me whether this soap can be used as a cleaner or a shampoo. The answer depends on your preference. I personally find this soap is very moisturising.

I tried to mix wash soda and cold filtered water until the wash soda dissolve into a solution then add this castile soap to be used as cleaner. It worked but it left a thin film on the surface thus a rinse with vinegar may help to remove the film.

As a shampoo, this soap is too moisturising. I will update the info once I find a way to convert this soap to shampoo.
