Opium poppy seeds - scarlet red flowers, double peony packed with petals. Flowers are large and around 8-10cm across on stems up to 1m tall. They make a good display with flowers successively opening over several weeks in summer. They are useful cut flowers lasting several days in water if the stems are scalded or bruised.

The seed heads are attractive in the own right as they are large and round - around 2-4 cm across. They are used in dry flower arrangements.

They are in the papaver somniferum group but, to my knowledge, do not produce opiate.

You are bidding on a minimum of 50 seeds.

Annual. Seeds freely so once you have some you should be able to keep them in your garden year after year. Suits sun and average to dry sites.

Seeds are fine, but relatively easy to grow. Germinate in autumn, winter and spring. Keep the potting mix relatively dry.

I do not sent seeds with consignments of live plants.
