This listing is for 5 x FRESH SEEDS Glycyrrhiza glabra ~ Ancient medicinal plant, native to Europe and Asia, is renown for its anti-inflammatory, anti-fatigue and confectionary properties. Ancient Egyptian and Chinese cultures used it for flavoring food, and for many medicinal applications. Licorice was even found in King Tut's tomb. Other Names: Sweet Wood, Sweet Root, gan cao Licorice is a natural laxative, relieves menstrual cramps and discomfort of menopause, relieves pain and discomfort from ulcers, good for adrenal gland, cancer treatments for breast and prostrate. It even lowers the effect of aging in the brain. It grows to about 1.5m tall with violet, bluish - violet and lavender flowers. Known to be 50 times sweeter than cane sugar, the root (which sends out horizontal runners) is harvested and dried after two+ years growth. It grows best in full sun and matures second season from transplanting. Licorice has a taste similar to Anise.
