Key accountabilities:

Management Accounting:

  • Provide proactive and solutions-focused advice to the CEO that supports the achievement of business objectives and regulatory compliance
  • Provide various financial and management reports timely at the end of the month
  • Undertake cash flow forecasting and associated planning and analysis
  • Provide timely and robust financial analysis to support business decision-making
  • Work within company FX policy to ensure optimum purchasing planning
  • Provide financial guidance to the CEO and the wider business leadership team
  • Quarterly and Annual Forecasting in consultation with CEO and COO to meet business strategy and timelines
  • Conversion and reconciliation of business forecasts and financial performance to align with parent company SAP financial system and internal policies
  • Contribute to ongoing business improvements
  • Primary interface into Parent Company regarding business financial matters
  • Business tax advice and business modelling
  • Proactively investigate ways to maximise financial business interests

Financial Accounting:

  • Utilise accounting software (MYOB EXO) to perform all duties and responsibilities effectively
  • Act as business owner on any MYOB system development and ensure on-going system performance in line with business objectives
  • Maintain general ledger and identify itemised costs and tracked payables
  • Reconcile Payroll files within MyStaff Info and produce bi-weekly payroll file uploads
  • Oversee the uploading of payroll files into COL and ensure payroll is authorised and processed by the bank
  • Reconcile physical stock movements to stock in MYOB and proactively work with software vendors to ensure ongoing stock accuracy
  • Reconcile Physical stock to GL and monthly sales movements to accurately determine FX impacts and COS

  • Administer and maintain annual leave and sick leave records
  • Ensure all tax, ACC and audit obligations are met
  • Oversee the AP/AR processes and review incoming invoices and prioritise payments according to supplier expectations and cash flow objectives
  • Pro-active debtor management and administration in accordance with business metrics
  • Ensure internal controls and systems are effective and efficient
  • Ensure financial and business related legislative compliances are met
  • AR write-offs/payment reversals as required
  • Maintain up to date asset register


  • Provide accounts administrative support as required
  • Ensure processes are followed to adhere to Company policy, business rules and/or legislative requirements
  • Identify initiatives for improving service delivery
  • Escalate issues promptly
  • Communicate changes in deadlines/issues appropriately
  • Work as a member of a team to meet deadlines and achieve targets
  • Ensure Best Practice across all financial processes and implement any improvements to increase efficiency


  • Have a NZ recognized accounting qualification
  • Have 3 or more years financial management and financial analysis experience
  • Previous experience managing or supervising staff
