Auckland Motor Vehicles is the Auckland dealer for Renault and INFINITI motor vehicles.

Renault have an exciting brand line up and are making increased inroads into the New Zealand European prestige marketplace. Coupled with the brand-new introduction of INFINITI to New Zealand and their innovative luxury model range.

The dealership is looking for an ambitious Accountant to join the growing team.

You will be responsible for all financial aspects of the dealership and work closely with the general manager and the owner's group commercial manager.

The Key Tasks:

  • Responsibility for the integrity of financial information within the accounting system.
  • Prepare management reporting information as required e.g. weekly WIP and DOR reports, monthly management accounts and board reports
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsibility for cash management and compliance with banking facility
  • Prepare intercompany balance reconciliations
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Group Policies and Procedures across Finance team and the business
  • Undertake internal control reviews as noted in the finance calendar and report back to Senior Finance Team
  • Compliance with all IRD requirements, IFRS and all other applicable laws and statutes
  • Oversee information systems capability including system users. Identify gaps, issues and propose improvements. Assist with any IT & system improvements
  • Monitor credit control limits and adherence to delegated authority matrix
  • Responsible for the management and development of staff including planning and co-ordinating workloads and resources
  • Prepare monthly and fortnightly payroll
  • Prepare regular reforecasts to be presented to Board
  • To build and maintain solid working relationships with the management team and wider group finance team to provide financial management, decision support and participation in entity decision making

Skills and Qualities you will need:

  • You will be a qualified accountant - CA, or on track to qualification
  • We would prefer that you have audit and commercial experience, ideally in a retail/wholesale environment
  • You will have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised
  • You will have effective communication skills at all organisation levels
  • You will have the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • You will have the ability to work with strong personalities in cohesive and mutually beneficial manner
  • You will be results orientated with the commercial acumen to ask the right questions
  • You will have advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly excel
  • You will have a capacity to lead and motivate colleagues by demonstrating best management practices
