Hutt City Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team, reporting to the Divisional Manager Human Resources.
Working within a fun and friendly team of HR professionals this role takes ownership of running smooth payroll operations for approximately 500 salary employees.
You’ll handle some complex variables, ensuring accurate information within the payroll and HRIS and reviewing processes to ensure regulatory requirements are met. This is a hands on role with one direct report. You’ll have at least five years’ experience managing a payroll system, (preferably Chris21), as well as up to date knowledge of legislation and an ability to see areas of risk or gaps.
With upcoming improvements to existing systems and processes you’ll be comfortable with change, and focused on ensuring the benefits are realised. As the go-to person for payroll queries, a strong customer focus is important as is the willingness to contribute positively to your team.
