Cadet - Irrigation

Channeling water for arid land during long, hot summers. Stopping a frost from ruining a season's crop. Turning dirty water into crystal clear drinking water.

We have a permanent full time position based in our Gore operation for a junior irrigation person. We are seeking a person who enjoys working outdoors and has a passion for the rural sector.

Key responsibilities:
  • Learning the irrigation and pumping industry by working along side experienced people in the industry
  • Field installation of systems – pumps, pipelines, valves and control systems
  • Servicing irrigation and pump systems
  • Able to work overtime as required

  • Honest and hardworking, with excellent attention to detail
  • Well organized, practical and methodical
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate on all levels
  • Ability to work as a team or independently unsupervised
  • An interest in mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Ability to get the job done (able to work extra hours when necessary)
  • Computer skills

It is important that the successful applicant holds a current New Zealand drivers license. This position may require the person to travel away from home for project work. Training as required will be provided to assist the successful applicant with this position.
