The Smokehouse is a Smoked seafood processing and wholesaling business operating from purpose built factory in Stoke (Nelson), along with a takeaway and deli business, based on the Wharf at Mapua.
We supply a range of smoked seafood products – fish and pates, to supermarkets, delis and restaurants throughout NZ.

Primarily we are looking for a person who has experience in working with and filleting fish. The role also involves hot smoking a range of fish and then pin boning the smoked fish and wash down at the end of the day

Other roles may include vacuum packing, or working in the chiller and packing and preparing product for dispatch, or as directed.

Following and adhering to our strict food hygiene regulations is essential.

Experience is preferred although not essential as full training will be provided.

You will need to be outgoing and energetic, meet various production deadlines and schedules and work in with other team members. Showing initiative and willing to share ideas and solve problems will also be a requirement. The role may require some sole unsupervised work and may involve weekend work. We are a small but dedicated team who care and are enthusiastic about what we do.

This is a permanent role offering 30-35 hours per week, growing quickly to full time for the right person.
