The Investigating Officer role is integral to achieving this mission – are you up for the challenge?

This Project Lead role will co-ordinate all aspects of the forestry regulation under the National Environmental Standard for Production Forestry and the Resource Management Act, including consents, monitoring and enforcement.

Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will come to the fore in advising, advocating and educating the public and resource users on the sustainable and safe use of Taranaki’s natural resources. The ability to assist with consent investigation and reporting and strong computer skills are also required. Regulation of industrial and other rural activities could also be undertaken. Hours of work include being part of a 24-hour on call roster, approximately one week in every eleven.

Applicants will demonstrate experience in forestry operations and practices, ideally reinforced with a relevant tertiary qualification. Knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 would be an advantage. A current driver’s licence for a manual vehicle is essential.
