•Responsible for the application of sprays and fertiliser programme.

•Responsible for the safe operations within the orchards.

•Staying compliant with NZ GAP and Quality Assurance Programme and Code of Best Practice.

•Responsible for all orchard staff – picking standards, pruning standards.

•Orchards staff training and inducting.

•Maintain an accurate spray diary.

•Ensuring that all orchard staff and contractors are made aware of relevant hazards on the properties; and continually updating the Hazard Register with new hazards and their locations.

•Maintain orchard equipment (tractors, sprayers, mowers, mulcher ladders, pruning equipment) to ensure they work properly and are safe to use.

•Maintain and aesthetic appeal to all the orchards.

•Seasonal monitoring of citrus related pests.

•Regular contact with orchard pest monitoring contractors.

•Organise the delivery and collection of orchard bins.

The successful applicant will be able to show that they have relevant work experience related to the application of sprays and tractor operation on a large scale - Approved Handler certificate - and has managed staff.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
