Due to a recent internal movement we are seeking a Team Leader to lead our animal pest control team in the Kaikoura area.
About the role:
As the team leader you will organise and lead a small team on a day-to-day basis as well as be responsible for animal pest control operations in the Kaikoura region, ensuring we deliver on contract requirements. For this role you must have a love of, and knowledge of the outdoors. You must be able to operate and navigate in the outdoors, so physical fitness and confidence in your abilities is imperative. Work is carried out all year, and in all weather, so your ability to work in extreme hot, cold or wet weather is essential, as is your ability to cover large distances in rough terrain.
Understanding of animal behaviours through leisure activities or work in a rural environment is essential. You will preferably have a firearms and controlled substance license and experience in trapping and use of poisons. You must have a clean class 1 and 6 license, ideally combined with first aid and LUV driving qualifications.
An ability to work in a small team or alone is essential. You must have a strong commitment to health and safety and a passion to make a difference to our local environment.
This is a great time to join the Downer team and take the next step in your career with an organisation committed to the lifelong development of our people.
