A full time position has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic professional Office Manager to join a great team at New Zealand Car Canterbury Ltd at our card yard located in Sock burn. This role would ideally suit an experienced Manager who is able to work autonomously with experience in administration work & day to day yard related work. We are seeking someone with excellent technical skills, who is thorough, efficient, has good time management and also possess great communication skills face to face. There will be ongoing training and opportunities to up skill & cross training are provided and encouraged.

· Observe staff functions to ensure yard and office procedures are followed and documentation is completed correctly.
· Provide team members with clear directions for the performance of each task. Allocate team members to ensure effective use of staff resources to complete task.
· Monitor NZ Car Canterbury Ltd’s Trade Me and other advertising to ensure compliance with Fair Trading Act, Consumer Guarantees Act and Motor Vehicles Sales Act.
· Review and suggest modifications to existing vehicle and non-vehicle stock systems and develop new or alternative systems to improve performance. Report to Director.
· Monitor and maintain non-vehicle stock levels at required levels.
· Manage and track budget and financial management functions relevant to area of responsibility. Provide advice on proper procedures and standards. Negotiate with panel beaters, auto-electricians, IT services, finance sector representatives and other relevant professionals to maximize contributions to NZ Car Canterbury Ltd objectives.
· Manage the receipt and dispatch of parts and other supplies to appropriate staff.
· Ensure optimal resource allocation across strategic objectives and operating units. Seek out most cost-effective ways to utilize budgetary resources. Ensure that staff are appropriately trained, utilized, appraised and rewarded.
· Work with office and yard staff in preparing their work plans in accordance with standards and deadlines. Create a work environment where assignments are interesting, challenging and provide learning opportunities, and inspire the team to assume new responsibilities and challenges.
· Complete performance and potential evaluations for office and yard staff and provide formal and informal feedback. Report to Director.
· Work to prevent and resolve personnel problems in a timely manner and participate in resolving issues of staff performance with Director.
· Maintain a safe working environment in both the office and the yard in compliance with health and safety regulations and in coordination with Director. Ensure that staff has the greatest possible incentive to manage their own health and safety risks to prevent injuries to themselves and to others
