An opportunity has emerged to recruit an Academic Services Analyst to join the Academic Services team in the Faculty of Science.

Working as a member of the wider Student, Academic Services and Engagement team, you will provide reporting and analysis to support faculty decision making required for the effective delivery of the faculty's academic programmes. In this detail-oriented role you will support staff across the faculty including Senior Management, Heads of Departments and Schools, Managers and frontline teams.

We're looking for an outstanding 'number cruncher' who can combine expertise in analysing and monitoring data with the proactive mind set of a customer service champion.

Your capacity for analysing information, evaluating trends and collating data to produce coherent and accessible reports will be matched by your ability to clearly communicate ideas, accommodate stakeholders' needs and provide commentary and insight to senior staff.

Your relationship management skills will be demonstrated by an ability to build rapport with a variety of stakeholders enabling you to manage expectations and contribute effectively to operational and strategic improvement initiatives.

Advanced Excel knowledge and experience with a range of databases are essential skills for your success. Expert knowledge and experience using Syllabus Plus, Student Services Online (SSO) and proficiency in the Microsoft suite of packages will be advantageous.

You will be tertiary qualified and will have demonstrated experience working within the tertiary sector. Ideally you will have previous experience working in an analytical role under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and demonstrating a proactive customer focused approach.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and exercise expertise in the use of the University's software systems and central reporting tools including testing system developments and enhancements
  • Liaise with the Student and Academic Services team members to update and implement changes to PeopleSoft data relating to the infrastructure for admissions, enrolment, records maintenance, degree completion and reporting across all programmes
  • Ensure faculty staff are aware of minimum entry standards, requisites and enrolment limitations for programmes and courses
  • Coordinate faculty requests for access to student services on line systems
  • In liaison with Student and Academic Services team members provide reporting on enrolment exceptions processing including concessions and waivers to support decision making required for effective delivery of programmes
  • Provide reports as requested to assist Academic Services team with timetabling and other activities.
  • Prepare various reports and detailed analysis to assist decision making using the University's standard reports and ad hoc PeopleSoft queries, with a particular focus on admission and enrolment.
  • Analyse timetable processes with a view to making improvements and increasing efficiency
