We have some pretty exciting changes in our team at the moment, opportunities have arisen at more senior levels which have resulted in lots of upward movement within our team and now we need to fill their places. This is so positive for us and a really good time to join our Collections & Recoveries team.
An ACC Collections Officer has a very important role to do - managing the collection and recovery of outstanding payments and debts from our customers. It takes a very special type of person to do this role, so have a read of what's below, and if you think you've got what we need, we'd love to hear from you.
In this role you will be handling high volume inbound and outbound calls, answering questions and giving payment advice and information to customers. It is essential that you have some experience of working in a debt recovery or contact centre environment.
You will also need to be familiar with PCs and comfortable using various computer applications.
What we're looking for:
To be successful as a Collections Officer, you need to be an active listener and have the ability to work collaboratively with customers, but it is very important that you are
resilient and have the confidence to be firm when the situation arises.
  • Previous experience working in a debt collection / credit management environment or in a contact centre (outbound calls) role
  • An excellent telephone manner and highly skilled in dealing with customers respectfully
  • A good understanding of early day collections and debt recovery methodology
  • Accomplished at negotiation and dispute resolution
  • Ability to learn policies and procedures quickly and accurately
