Your new company
Our client is a leading global loss adjusting firm which provides professional services to the insurance industry and self-insured corporates, both nationally and overseas. Priding themselves on their level of service and professionalism, they are seeking either an experienced residential loss adjustor or an experienced builder with decent office skills and solid report writing/computer skills to join their Auckland loss adjusting team.
Your new role
Reporting to the branch manager, your role will entail managing multiple property and contents claim assessments, undertaking on-site inspections and utilising your building and technical expertise to provide advice as to cause and remedy. You'll be undertaking a scope of works, liaising with clients, the insurers, engineers and suppliers cooperatively managing the claim until completion and where required reinstatement. You'll be providing written reports, negotiating repairs and be self- managing your workload efficiently and effectively. The role may involve national and international travel occasionally.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to have previous experience in preparing scopes of work, costing and insurance. This is a busy role which will utilize all your skills. You'll need to have an inquisitive mind and the ability to grasp and understand a wide range of circumstances, and then be able to report on them.
Covering predominantly residential claims with some smaller commercial claims, you'll be confident in negotiating claims for residential loss or damage, possess excellent communication skills, customer service, computer literacy, and sound numerical/written skills. Some practical experience in building work is an advantage. The ability to manage your own work load and be committed to delivering a high level of service in all aspects of your work is paramount. Relevant qualifications for this role may include QS, drafting, engineering or building/estimation
