The Health and Safety coordinator will be responsible for the administration, documentation and improvement of our health and safety processes, policies and culture, in conjunction with management and staff, with a view to achieving the Company's goal of a Zero harm environment.

Responsibilities

Reporting in to the company Senior H&S Advisor, this role presents a great opportunity to join a fantastic kiwi employer as it continues to grow and succeed and clearly the sourcing and attracting of key talent forms a pretty major part of helping us meet our long term goals.

The Health and Safety coordinator will be responsible for the administration, documentation and improvement of our health and safety processes, policies and culture, in conjunction with management and staff, with a view to achieving the Company's goal of a Zero harm environment.

  • Working closely with our site managers and supervisors with all H&S related queries
  • Track and maintain H&S compliance
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports around training, compliance, audits, onsite inductions and so on
  • Help to drive and implement new and revised H&S initiatives and strategies
  • Responsibility around PPE gear and preferred supplier agreements
  • Carry out audits and inspections as required
  • Develop site safety plans specific to each site

Key requirements:

  • Several years dedicated experience within a similar or affiliated industry in a professional health and safety based role
  • A Health & Safety qualification (diploma or similar) preferred
  • Exceptional all-round interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation skills, adept at facilitating training sessions/workshops
  • Highly credible, professional temperament with ability to cope in a pressured environment
  • Demonstrated track record of attaining "buy-in" on all safety matters, with proven ability to positively impact on a company's safety performance
