Our Thames team is looking for a Plant Operator / General Hand to join their general construction crew. The successful candidate will operate a range of construction plant including but not limited to, excavators, loaders, water carts and rollers; The crew specialises in environmental - silt & runoff control, set out & levels, earthworks, bulk filling & compaction, drainage construction, concrete construction, pavement/base course construction, surface preparation, restoration and reinstatement, road furniture and installation. You will also be required to carry out other construction labouring duties.


  • 2-3 years of proven work experience in road or civil construction preferred
  • No formal qualifications are required, but basic handyman / maintenance skills are a definite advantage
  • Familiar with basic maintenance and construction equipment
  • Physically fit, as the job requires digging and heavy lifting; prolonged periods of walking, standing, and bending
  • Maintaining and demonstrating an up-to-date understanding of and compliance with Broadspectrum Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) systems, policies and procedures, including reporting of incidents, and the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

  • A minimum of class 2 licence, class 4 or 5 preferred, WTR and machine experience preferred especially excavator or grader, concrete experience preferred
  • Traffic Control Level 1 qualification or higher preferred.
