Our business is growing, particularly in the Auckland region and as a result our Auckland Central Branch, based in Saint Johns, is looking for a Construction Supervisor - Maintenance.

The Role
This role will take ownership of quality control of our finished homes, along with any maintenance requirements covered by our post purchase warranty period.

Our team of Construction Supervisors is tasked with delivering finished homes to our Sales team, at which point they hit the open market. They work to a quality control system at each completion and you will have some direct involvement in this as the second set of eyes. From there, with all in agreeance, the house will be handed to our Sales team.

On average, we see this role as doing at least one inspection a day. The remainder of your time will be taken up with the quality control process (including paperwork, working through the maintenance registers and co-ordinating trades people to undertake work in timeframes which suit homeowners).

About You
This role is ideally suited to someone with an exceptional eye for detail when it comes to quality finishes. You will, however, need to be pragmatic because, although you will be part of the team completing inspections on our homes before they are handed to the sales team, we want the delivery team to see you as someone they enjoy working with, not a person only there to make their lives more difficult.

We see this role suiting someone with a proven track record in the construction sector, but with a desire to step away from delivery and take a much more proactive role in quality control. Experience in engaging and supervising subcontractors is required; however, a slight difference with this role is that you will also work very closely with the homeowners in terms of organising for work to be completed. Alongside your exceptional eye for detail, you will be someone who takes health & safety seriously and ensures that everyone gets to go home safely each day.

Given the nature of the work we are doing, along with the reputation of the Fletcher brand, you will need to be someone who offers a strong commitment to ensuring we deliver a high spec product to the market every time. You will be someone who is respected by the people you work with (from your colleagues and managers, down to subcontractors and specialist trades). Finally, you will be someone with a passion for customer service a critical part of this role.
