Sopersmac is a leading supplier of hardware to the construction industry. Established for over 60 years and with 5 showroom branches nationally they are passionate about what they do and proud to be the industry leader in their field.
This role is based at their large showroom in Eden Terrace, Auckland CBD.


Role Profile
We’re looking for an energetic, outgoing person to be the front face of the branch.
Ideally you’ll have a good ability to understand technical information and be able to translate that knowledge into superior customer assistance.
As well as a mature sensibility and excellent written and oral communication skills you’ll need to be able to build good rapport with a diverse range of customers from the general public to builders and to architects is essential.
The successful applicant will need to be well presented, punctual and demonstrate a proven ability to follow up on details.
You will also need to have sound computer skills, recording information, documentation and providing prompt response to web based and email based enquiries.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Support showroom sales for both Trade and Retail clients
• Establish a good relationship with branch customers through service and quality advice.
• Develop and maintain a customer database.
• Develop and maintain sales and promotional materials
• Manage phone enquiries and follow up phone calls to customers as required.
• Assist with ad hoc warehouse tasks such as stock taking


Hours
Staff are rostered to cover showroom opening hours which are between 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday
They are also open Saturdays from 8am to 12 noon and these are rostered. The team currently works approximately one Saturday in every three.


Skill and experience required
• NCEA Level 3;
• Ideally you will have some previous showroom or retail sales experience;
• Some knowledge of interior design, renovation or building would be a real advantage;
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Computer literacy particularly with M/S Word and Excel.



To be eligible for this position you must currently reside in NZ and be legally entitled to work permanently in NZ.
