The role

We are currently looking for Trainee Train Managers to join the existing team and assist in the safe and punctual running of our services. As a qualified Train Manager you will be responsible for providing an efficient and friendly service to passengers - including; safe operation of train doors and dealing with customer queries and issues.

What you bring

You will have:
  • Customer service experience; with a strong focus on generating customer satisfaction.
  • Experience of dealing with a broad range of the public.
  • Effective Communication - A high standard of literacy, both written and oral, is essential.
  • Ability to take charge of situations and stay calm under pressure.
  • High level of decision making skills.
  • High level of resistance to stressful situations, and ability to handle those situations effectively.
  • Confidence to work a busy train on your own when required.

To apply you must have:
  • The right to work in NZ
  • A full, clean, current N.Z. Driver's Licence C
  • A good grasp of Health and Safety awareness.
  • The ability to work shifts over a 24 hour/7 day period.

This is a safety critical role and requires all successful applicants to meet pre-employment benchmarks in psychometric testing along with an interview, satisfactory criminal history check, medical examination and references.
