We are looking for the right person to drive our face-to-face customer experience by managing and enhancing our network of service centres across Auckland. It's a key role in our Customer Services Group so we're looking for energy, drive and proven delivery.

About Auckland Transport

Auckland Transport, under the AT Metro Brand, is responsible for public transport services including bus, train and ferry. Spread across Auckland at major transport hubs, our Service Centres work with Customers every day to help them get where they are going and answer their transport questions.

The role

Reporting to the Group Manager Customer Services, this is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for the operational performance of our twelve service centres across Auckland. With over 100 staff working multiple shifts you'll be able to traverse both strategic and operational management. You'll be an experienced senior leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills who has ideally worked in a similar service based environment.

As part of this role you'll be involved in designing our future service centre strategy, managing the day to day operations of the service centres and accountable for leading your staff to deliver a consistent and efficient service experience.

About you

We are looking for a highly skilled senior people leader who has demonstrated experience in driving a positive performance culture in large face-to-face teams such as retail, services, hospitality, tourism, banking and insurance. You will have managed personnel across a dynamic roster and different geographical locations. You will also have:
  • Experience managing a budget with sound commercial acumen
  • Proven ability to use insights to drive strategic direction and an improved customer experience
  • Experience in managing a service based business with cash handling accountabilities
  • Be familiar with the use of process improvement frameworks and methodologies to transform business processes
