Canterbury Educare is known for operating small centres that provide high quality education and care for children and whanau at very affordable prices.

Our original centre in Papanui is currently seeking a part time teacher due to roll growth, to work in our small centre which is licensed for 42 children. We have 2 dedicated spaces for under 2’s and over 2’s with a philosophy that values and respects the child and their freedom to explore and learn at their own pace.

We are seeking an exceptional teacher who can work effectively as part of a team, can share knowledge and is willing to grow as a professional in the sector based on our philosophy of respect for children as inherently capable learners.

Currently we have a vacancy for a part time position, minimum 27.5 hours per week, in our over 2’s room. In addition to a competitive salary package we offer friendly working environment, opportunity for professional development and subsidised childcare for own children.

We would love to hear from you if you:
• Hold an ECE Diploma or Degree with Full or Provisional Teacher Registration.
• Can be flexible in the hours that you work and be able to work in our Preston’s centre if required.
• Are passionate about play as a base for learning.
• Have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Have an excellent ability to work as a team member.
• Are self-motivated, innovative, reflective and prepared to work and think outside of the box.
• Have willingness to participate in a range of development activities.
• Are committed to quality teaching.
• Have the ability to work with whanau, extended whanau and the community.
