The role

The Lead Electrician will be responsible for providing field services in the Auckland region for installation, testing and commissioning solar PV systems. This person will lead a team of 2-3 Installers and may also work independently as required.

Responsibilities:

Work in a team of 2-3 people and take overall responsibility for the team and the installation process.
Install PV systems in accordance with professional standards, compliant with NZ wiring rules and specifications.
Coordinate, motivate and assist in managing the on-time delivery of installation.
Liaising with customers, co-workers and Inspectors.
Program, adjust, or configure inverters and controls for desired set points and operating modes.
Test operating voltages to ensure operation within acceptable limits for power conditioning equipment, such as inverters and controllers as required.
Perform routine PV maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning units (inverters), safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing or balance of system equipment.

What you will need to succeed:

NZ Registered Electrician.
Clean NZ Class 1 driver’s licence.
At least 2 years post-registration experience.
Aptitude for working at heights confidently and safely.
Broad electrical and mechanical knowledge.
A focus on excellence and customer relations.
All applicants should be willing to undergo pre-employment medical and drug testing if required.
