Are you a NZ Registered HV Electrician and Cable Jointer?

PowerNet is a progressive and innovative electricity network management company who have a great team of people committed to providing safe, efficient and reliable power to our communities across the lower South Island.

As a Substation Maintainer you will be involved in the construction, installation and maintenance of equipment across the PowerNet managed networks.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the integrity of the high voltage and low voltage system is maintained, as well as keeping the electrical systems operating to industry standards and at a level that meets our customer expectations.

You will also assist with the servicing of substation and load control equipment including circuit breakers, power transformers and associated control and protection equipment, undertake routine inspections and checks and attend faults when required.

You will need to have a National Certificate in Electrical Supply Level 4 or equivalent and be a Registered Electrician or Registered Cable Jointer with at least 3 years’ experience in the electricity industry. A current Class 1 Drivers license is required and a Heavy Traffic and Forklift license along with a Traffic Management STMS and Permit Holders certificate is preferred.

You’ll be a great communicator and enjoy working as part of a team, be physically fit and available to participate on a stand by roster.
