Our client is a baked goods manufacturer, looking to hire a new Maintenance Engineer to support their production. This position is on the afternoon shift working predominantly Monday - Friday starting at 3pm and finishing at midnight. The factory operates for 6 days per week, so some overtime/callout can be expected on the weekends.

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing and coordinating the maintenance of plant machinery and equipment in a busy production facility. You will be solely responsible for fault finding, diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance when on shift, as well being actively involved in the planning of routine and non-routine maintenance. This is a close knit team where you will work closely with production, treating them as your customers to work to the best outcomes. This is not a very automated plant and will suit someone who is passionate about using their mechanical skills to fix and work with unique machinery. The plant has a mix of some brand new and also older equipment.

To be suitable for this position you will need the following skills:

  • Mechanical trade qualified
  • Significant experience as a maintenance engineer/fitter
  • Pharmaceutical, Dairy, food, FMCG or similar clean production experience will be highly preferred
  • Maintenance Planning Experience - Use of ERP Systems
  • Ability to use Microsoft office packages
  • Ability to work weekend or after hours when required
  • Able to work unsupervised
