Our client is a local food processor with clients worldwide. Having undergone a recent restructure, they are looking for an experienced Product Design Engineer to join the business in the engineering team.
As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. Your key responsibilities will encompass involvement in the full product design life cycle including generating new product ideas and improvement on existing designs with the intention of final design for manufacture.
Education and Skills and Industry Experience
NZCE or BE qualification required
3-5 years industry experience in a Mechanical Design position
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and systems
Appreciation for design for manufacture
Familiar with 3D modelling software (Inventor Preferred)
Good practical background with workshop experience
Preparation of test plans and building prototypes
Preparation of documentation to comply with regulatory requirements
