About the role

The Property and Procurement Advisor will have a pivotal role in the delivery of efficient and cost effective property and procurement initiatives taking a customer service oriented, and solutions focused approach. Responsible for contributing to, and implementation of our property strategy and annual procurement planning; this role aims to align relevant work programmes with the Authority's needs for the short, medium and longer-term.

What we're looking for

This isn't your typical advisor role. We are looking for a self-motivated, strategic thinker with excellent relationship building skills who enjoys making a difference in an environment that is outcomes focused. You will have proven experience in managing commercial and contractual aspects of property and procurement, and ideally will have worked in a regulatory environment previously. You will also have successfully negotiated leases and procurement contracts that reflect the best possible outcomes for our organisation.

We are looking for someone who is ready to take ownership of property and procurement activities across our portfolio working closely with the Wellington based Property & Procurement Advisor.

  • Essential to securing this role will be your ability to demonstrate:your proven skills in relationship building and engaging easily with others to prioritise, negotiate and resolve business problems in a pragmatic way
  • a sound working knowledge of NZ Government Procurement including but not limited to the Government Rules of Sourcing (GRS)
  • a sound understanding of the Building Code and Health and Safety compliance in relation to construction and facilities management
  • project management experience and best-practice thinking and application.
