Archives New Zealand, Te Rua Mahara o Te Kawanatanga sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department’s epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand.

Archives New Zealand is the official guardian of New Zealand’s public record. We have developed a long-term strategy – Archives 2057. In order to achieve this vision, Archives New Zealand needs to transform and therefore we have established a Transformation programme.

This programme has oversight of a number of key projects which are central to advancing us towards our 2057 vision. The Digitisation project is one of these key projects established to drive increased digitisation of high value records to facilitate increased online access and digital delivery.

We are looking for a Team Leader Digitisation to manage the team responsible for the delivery of systematic digitisation.

To succeed in this role you will need to have proven experience in:

  • logistical or operational management
  • successfully leading people to achieve targets
  • digitisation to specified standards - desirable

For this role you will be :

  • able to motivate and drive for results
  • a good communicator and relationship manager
  • an excellent problem solver who is able to quickly understand complex information and systems
