Are you passionate about influencing sustainable development within Porirua City through applying the provisions of the Resource Management Act? We have a vacancy in our Resource Consents team for a Monitoring and Enforcement Officer. Whether you are new to monitoring and enforcement at a graduate level (with a relevant tertiary qualification) or experienced in this field, this role has scope to accommodate, develop and reward your level of competence.

You will be doing things such as:

  • monitoring compliance with resource consent conditions and the District Plan
  • responding to land use complaints and take appropriate action where necessary
  • gathering evidence to enable enforcement action to be undertaken under the Resource Management Act
  • Reviewing building consent applications for compliance with the District Plan.

You'll need to show us that you:

  • have a working knowledge of the Resource Management Act and relevant statutes and by-laws
  • really enjoy working within a regulatory environment
  • enjoy the challenge of managing and resolving customer complaints while bringing a customer focus to the heart of everything you do
  • demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn
  • have a passion for creating sustainable solutions and building positive working relationships
  • have a full unrestricted New Zealand driver's licence.
