The South Waikato District Council is looking for a Community Planning Officer to take responsibility for the engagement, preparation and implementation associated with local community / concept plans prepared by the South Waikato District Council in partnership with communities. This role also has responsibility for managing the planning and implementation of Council projects that develop out of community planning and other Council activities. Please refer to the detailed Job Description for a full outline of responsibilities.

We are passionate about our community and so the right person for this role will have a sound knowledge of the social and economic profile of the South Waikato region. A key function of this role includes building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, so we are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in a similar capacity. The successful candidate will have experience in managing projects to scope, budget, and successful completion. You will have effective communication skills, both written and presentation, and be computer literate with relevant Microsoft programs. A Project Management qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
