Do you have a keen interest in the democratic process and want to contribute to the city you live in?

As a qualified and experienced law professional you’ll deal with a wide range of Local Authority activities and business issues, such as reviewing contracts, managing litigation, advising on public law and legislative compliance issues. It is important that you enjoy a challenge as you deal with issues in areas of law that you are not familiar with.

As the Legal Advisor/Governance Team Leader, you’ll step into a position that has a key part to play in the smooth running of the democratic process at the Council. It will be your responsibility to manage a small team of competent, self-motivated professionals; and to oversee and provide effective support to the democratic process.

In order to succeed in this role you’ll be a highly organised, self-motivated person who is able to deal with challenging situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. Your high level of customer service will be evident from your previous achievements, and you will excel in communicating professionally and effectively with a wide variety of people. Furthermore, you will also demonstrate passion for Local Government and be able to talk to us about your previous successes.
