Key deliverables of this role is to coordinate the implementation of the 2018-28 Long Term Plan, as well as the development of the 2021-31 Long Term Plan, together with coordinating corporate performance reporting, including organisational Key Performance Indicators. This role will be integral in the collection of work programmes across Council to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the timeliness of the work undertaken. The successful candidate will work across the organisation with senior staff and subject matter experts, to inform regular reporting to the Napier City Council Executive and Council. As the subject matter expert, you will also play a key role in coordinating activities and initiatives that focus on improvement alignment between strategy, policy, planning and resources.

You will have experience and expertise in corporate, strategic and business planning and performance reporting. The ability to develop effective working relationships with Councillors, community, and a range of Council staff and technical experts. You will be able to utilise information systems as an effective planning and reporting tool, which will be essential to deliver improved consistency and quality.

To be successful in this role, you will have a suitable degree level qualification in public policy, social research or business, and proven project management experience. Critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills are also important requirements. You must have effective relationship and communication skills and be able relate to wide range of people.
