We currently have an opportunity available for a support worker to work as part of a motivated and dedicated team providing support for our client who has a brain injury. You will be working in her home providing support with general household activities and assisting with looking after her two young active boys. We are looking for someone who is vibrant, enthusiastic, outgoing and fun company for the children.

This is a part time role where you will be working the following shifts:

  • Week 1:Tue, Thu & Fri 4pm - 7pm
  • Week 2:Tue, Thu & Fri 4pm - 7pm; Sat 9am - 3pm; Sun 11am - 5pm

Hours of work do change over the Christmas holidays where there will be up to 3 weeks' unpaid work as the children are away, however the hours of work do increase for the remainder of the holiday. The children may also be away for 1 to 2 weeks during term holidays but if they remain home increased hours are offered. Typical responsibilities include:

  • home help including cooking meals, cleaning, washing
  • child care including taking the boys to community activities every second weekend


  • a current full driver's licence and own car is essential
  • reliable and trustworthy
  • be a non-smoker
  • good communication skills and fluency in English
  • able to pass the vulnerable children's police vetting check
  • be eligible to work in New Zealand
