We are looking for a Coordinator to run our meaningful activity programme twice a week in Hawera, incorporating physical and cognitive stimulation in a supportive and social environment for people with mild to moderate dementia who are living in the community.

We need a team player with a positive "can do" attitude, a willingness to take responsibility, and a practical and flexible approach to the many and varied duties this role offers. Our Hawera Day Programme runs on Tuesdays and Fridays and the role is for 20 hours per week.

The Role:

- You will have, or have held, a relevant health professional qualification.
- You will be responsible for co-ordinating the provision of a day programme for people with mild to moderate dementia on Tuesdays and Fridays, ensuring appropriate activities are offered to give members a stimulating and enjoyable time.
- You will supervise an assistant plus a team of volunteers.
- You will keep accurate records to meet the organisations requirements.
- You will work closely with our field worker and other health professionals.
- You will be committed to ongoing professional development.

Ideally you will have:

- Experience in working with people with dementia, in a clinical or diversional therapy role.
- An ability to plan, but with flexibility to adapt to the immediate needs of club members.
- An ability to work with a diverse range of people in a safe and supportive manner.
- An understanding of best practice and quality services.
- A current First Aid Certificate.
- Computer competency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- A full NZ driving licence and reliable vehicle.
