The Role

Youth Horizons is looking for a Therapist to join our Te Tai Tokerau team. If you are looking for a challenge, have clinical experience and want to work for an organisation that is making a difference in the lives of at-risk young people - we'd like to talk with you.

As a Youth Horizons Therapist, you will play a key therapeutic role in a Ministry of Social Development funded Conduct Disorder Contract for children and young people in the Te Tai Tokerau region. You will engage therapeutically with families, whanau, caregivers and/or other significant people involved in the care of the child or young person to support them to address the child or young person's mental health, emotional and/or behavioural issues and maximise their developmental potential. Almost all of our programmes are delivered in-home.

About You

  • You will hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree in psychology, psychotherapy, social work, or other related mental health field.

  • Registered health professional under the HPCA Act or Social Work registration.

  • A background in cognitive-behavioural therapy or psychotherapy experience operating as a practitioner, in particular working with families, children and adolescents

  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and stakeholders.

  • Be culturally aware and willing to be a part of a bi-cultural journey.

  • Have a full and clean New Zealand driver's licence.
