Tararua Family Services is a community social service agency that provides a range of strengths-based child and family services in the Tararua Region. We have developed a strong reputation of delivering effective and professional social services including social work, counselling, SWIS and group programmes while promoting our distinct Christian character and values. Our primary goal is to assist people to take positive action in their lives by providing expertise, support, resources and information.

We are looking to employ a full-time qualified Social Worker in Schools (SWIS) for Dannevirke and Norsewood. This is an exciting opportunity to provide early intervention and preventative social work services to children and their families using a strengths-based approach.

Each day you will be faced with the challenge of utilising your knowledge, skill and networks to produce the best possible outcomes for families and students. You will be well supported by clinical supervision, ongoing training and a professional congenial and responsive team environment.

Key Requirements:
  • Registered Social Worker or working
towards registration.
  • Proven ability of working closely with
families and the community to
improve education, health and well
being outcomes for children in
schools.
  • Sound knowledge of the services
available in the community.
  • Excellent written and oral
communication skills, sound
computer literacy skills.
  • Strong communication and
relationship management skills.
  • Experience working in a bicultural
and/or multi-cultural context.
  • Able to champion the special
character of Anglican Care Waiapu.
