If you're someone who knows what it means to be a supportive person, you could be a great fit for our roles working with young people and their families/whanau.
As one of our Team members you'll work flexibly to meet the needs of the people we support. We're not after in-home care workers, but instead people who can support young people with disabilities to develop their independence, engage with their local communities and access their hobbies and interests outside of the home.
You'll be a fun-loving person that gets on well with people, and builds connections easily. Whether you're looking for some hours that fit around your study or family life, or have the ability to work only a small number of hours each week, we have a variety of options available, particularly during the afternoons and weekends, so this could work for you.
You'll have the confidence, positive energy and caring attitude to be supportive and make your job enjoyable, even on the days when things don't go according to plan. You'll have a natural resilience when days are challenging and an empathy that means you can build a real connection with those you support and their families/whanau who really need to have confidence in you.
What you need to know:
- Appointment based - choose hours that work for you
- No experience necessary - we'll give you the support you need to get the job done
- You'll need a full driver's licence (or to be close to having one), and to pass all the usual checks
- You must be a NZ Citizen or permanent resident or have the right to work in NZ
- A structured pay scale that recognises your qualifications and experience.
We are committed to our employees and are proud to employ and train the best people in all areas of our organisation. We provide a career pathway for staff through our learning and development framework and offer a starting rate of $19 per hour, with the opportunity to progress once you have completed our fully funded NZQA training and qualifications.
So, if you're passionate about providing support to a wide range of people and think youd like a career with NZCare Disability, then we'd like to hear from you!
