Youth Development Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Development Lead to jump on-board our waka and create, manage, lead and inspire our Youth Development Team.

About Us:

Anamata CAFE is a Youth One Stop Shop service providing youth health and social support to young people aged 12-24. We provide a sexual and reproductive health clinic for all ages. Our wraparound model allows us to address health needs while also addressing social and developmental issues which are often the underlying determinants of ill health and poor outcomes for young people.

About the Position:

We are seeking a proactive, energetic, creative and passionate full time Youth Development Lead to join the senior leadership team and focus on growing our youth development service delivery for young people in the Taupo District.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Leading the development of our youth work programme. This involves developing and delivering new programmes of work, responding to youth initiatives, programme delivery and collaboration with partners and community.
  • Developing and building the capability and skills of the Youth Work Team.
  • Being accountable for positive youth programme outcomes using evidence-based reporting.
  • Maintaining an equity focus to improving health and wellbeing of young people, particularly rangatahi Maori and LGBTQI young people.

About You:

  • You will have Team Leader experience, including managing staff, and have an amazing ability to build great teams
  • You will hold relevant Youth Development qualification/s.
  • You will have an authentic passion for working with rangatahi.
  • You have a sound understanding of and commitment to the Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa, Ottawa Charter, Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to improving youth health and service access for all ages.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are a Team Player - your proven ability to work as part of a team will set you apart from other applicants.

You will need to cope well with a fluid and at times ambiguous environment. This will require a proactive, positive, energetic and confident approach.
