Maori Smokefree Support worker

North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals

Waitemata DHB provides comprehensive quit smoking support to more than 3,000 patients who smoke each year, approximately 50% of the support offered is to Maori and Pacific patients who smoke.

Our Smokefree services team are focused on improving outcomes for Maori whanau, Pacific peoples, pregnant women and parents of young children.

If you are passionate about Maori health we have an exciting role for a Smokefree Support worker with a cultural connection to the challenge and opportunity of improving Maori health equity.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team and has a heart to assist Maori on a journey to become Smokefree using a holistic approach aligned to a Mataurangi Maori model of care. Work is scheduled across both North Shore and Waitakere Hospital and community sites.

Ideally you will have a have had previous experience in healthcare settings but this is not essential. Training is available.
