up to 1.0 FTE Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Urologist. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow Urological services for Taranaki. The successful candidate will join the Department of Surgery along with our current Urologist.
The successful applicant should have comprehensive experience and training in general Urology and must have vocational registration or equivalent qualifications. The Surgical Department has a strong track record with audit and the post holder will be expected to participate and contribute to the departments activities including registrar teaching, audit and medical student teaching.
The position is available on a full-time basis however applications will be considered from candidates wishing to work on a part time basis with private practice.
A new inpatient Clinical Service Block was opened in 2013 with 6 wards and a Theatre Block comprising 6 Theatres, 12 bed PACU 1, 24 bed PACU 2, 2 Endoscopy/procedure rooms. An interventional suite and digital radiology facilities are well established. There are excellent links for tertiary services in Hamilton, Wellington and Auckland. IT services are a priority and there is a strategic plan to innovate in the area of integrated information and technology. We have recently been approved to complete our re-development scheduled for completion in 2023.
We host medical students from the University of Auckland. You will enjoy the benefits of teaching and supervising years 5 and 6, while having access to the University's up to date resources.
