The Role

An exciting position is now available in Wellington for a Primary Health Nurse. In this role you will have the opportunity to work as part of a supportive, professional team as well having responsibility for your own portfolio. Nurses in this team enjoy access to significant on-going professional training and development.

This is a unique environment which requires self-motivated, resilient registered nurses. The key duties will include:

  • Provide full range of primary nursing services including triage and primary mental health care.
  • Utilise a holistic framework for assessment and delivery of nursing care.
  • Complete health screens and develop treatment plans.
  • Documentation of clinical decisions and information
  • Build and maintain effective relationship with relevant external individuals and agencies, including external service providers.
  • Deliver emergency care and treatment when required

This role includes rostered shifts and weekend work however there is no requirement to work night shifts.


To be successful in this role, you will hold:

  • Recent experience in primary or secondary health care nursing
  • A broad range of post-graduate clinical experience
  • The ability to assess and respond to an emergency situation
  • Experience in triage
  • A full clean NZ drivers licence
  • Current APC and NZ registration
