When you work with the Canterbury District Health Board, you're part of something very special. We plan, fund and deliver health services to the almost 600,000 New Zealanders that live in the Canterbury region. Our primary goal is to put people at the heart of everything we do.

The Team: What we do

The Children's Outreach Nursing Service provides care for children who have been cared for by the Paediatric Medical Service and who require ongoing education, care and support to manage their condition.

The Role: Where you fit in

The Children's Outpatient department at Christchurch Hospital is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide clinical nursing expertise for the General Outreach Nursing team. You will need to enjoy a challenge and have excellent communication and organisational skills as you will be responsible for clinical care delivery and coordination for children with complex chronic health challenges.

Key qualities required are, at least five years' clinical experience across a number of child health specialities or comparable advanced nursing skills. There is an expectation you will hold or be working towards a relevant post graduate diploma.

In addition, the role will require the ability to independently assess children within their own homes. The applicant will have the ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team in a variety of situations.

If you are passionate about providing an excellent home based service for children and their families, and believe you have the skills and attributes to make a positive contribution to our team we would like to hear from you.
